I grew up in Texas, was raised in a veterinary family and therefore I have extensive experience in veterinary medicine
and I enjoy it too. I moved to Arizona when I was 17. I moved back to Texas and then here to Missouri. I have two grown
children. My daughter, who also lives here in Missouri is 26 years old, married and has a 6 year old daughter. (My grand-daughter)
My son is 24 y ears old, married and lives in Arizona where his father lives.
My hobbies are my family, my horses and my dogs. I have my shelties but I also have a couple of big farm dogs as
well. My grand-daughters miniature pinscher also lives here. (Update: Alley the min pin has gone to live with my grand-daughter
now)
I have started raising shelties because I just love the breed. They are very smart and very easily trained. They are
fabulous family dogs and love kids and other animals. They are loyal and protective dogs and what an alarm system they make.
Try having six of them all go off at the same time. Ear splitting to say the least. My dogs stay with me throughout their
life until they get to a ripe old age and pass on to greener yards in the sky. I had two Shih-tzus and had them their whole
life. One of them had a stroke and passed on at the age of about 12 and the other one passed on just this year (2008) at the
age of 15, which for a shih-tzu is very very old. She had gone blind, deaf and was very senile. She didn't even know who I
was anymore and I had her since she was weaned at 6 weeks old. I have others that are getting up there in age as well.
