Welcome To SunRise Shelties

Welcome to my Sheltie website. Shelties are a passion of mine along with my horses. I think they are wonderful. They are very smart and easily trained. I do not show my Shelties but that doesn't mean they couldn't. They are my beloved kids and part of the family and not just pets. I come from a veterinary background and our Shelties are very well cared for, healthy, happy, well adjusted dogs. They have been cleared by my own veterinarian and have grown into beautiful playful companions. We raise a litter a year and go by sheltie standards. All of my shelties are registered and two of my shelties are just pets and we do not raise pups with them. They are double dilute blue merles and are both deaf and even though this can not be passed on to any pups they would produce I will not breed them. We are very cautious with our dogs, and pups. All leave here with first shots and wormings and we are NOT back yard breeders. I do not sell to pet stores or anything like that. I join my pups with loving families and educate them as to what to expect from this breed. They are very active dogs that need a job. Whether that be playing with you in the yard or going for walks or playing ball or frisbee. They need something to do or they can get into trouble.

I decided to make my sheltie site because my horse site is just to full. Besides my shelties deserve to have a site of their own. They are all very special and you will get to meet each one of them and read about how different everyone is and why they are unique.

To the right is Kings Rowdy Blue. He is my husbands sheltie as he is the one that picked him out.

We should be having a litter later this year and then won't have another one until next summer. Our puppies are raised in the house, not in a kennel and they are socialized, vet checked, wormed and often given their first shots before they are ready to go. We will only have one or two litters a year and no more. I am very picky about my dogs and only want what is best for them. I will only raise quality shelties that will be wonderful family oriented pets for those that understand the sheltie breed.
