Puppy Policy's and Contract

Welcome To SunRise Shelties

SunRise Shelties raises responsibly and we are not backyard breeders. I raise them for quality and companionship. If you want to purchase a sheltie pup from SunRise Shelties there will be a Puppy Purchase Contract that will be required so that both parties are on the same page. I will not sell to pet shops, dealers or anything resembling that.

Prospective buyers will be educated on the breed, what to expect, and will make sure that the pup goes into a proper home.

Please keep in mind, puppies like to chew and shelties are no exception. They are also very active dogs and while apartment living is possible there are a few things to consider. It is the trait for the sheltie to bark a lot. If you think your neighbors will cause trouble then make sure you live in an area where barking is not going to be bothersome. Shelties need running time, walking time or some kind of activity and are not ones to just be put someplace and ignored. There will be problems if they get bored.

Pups will be vet checked, have their first worming and first shots before they go to their new homes. You will be given what they were wormed with and what shots they were given.

Puppies will not be going to their new homes until they are 8 weeks old, eating on their own and self sufficient enough to go to their new homes.

Crate training is acceptable provided the crate is of sufficient size. Puppies actually like a safe secure place.
