Welcome To SunRise Shelties

Pictured at about 4 weeks of age.

This is my newest girl. I haven't fully decided on a name for her yet. She is absolutely beautiful and going to grow into a really really nice sheltie.

She should be arriving Feb 21st, 2009. I can't wait to see her.

Okay I think the decision has been made. Her name is "Maggie". That is not of course her registered name, still working on that. But I think I like "Maggie".

Well I am trying desperately to come up with the perfect name for this little girl. I was leaning towards "Sadie" however someone ruined that for me since they have are listed on a kinky website and part of their screen name is "Sadie". UGH! Just can't live with that.

Can say enough about this little girl. She is so wonderful. She sleeps with us at night, NO ACCIDENTS AT ALL!  She loves to cuddle and I adore her. When I get home from work she stays by my side. If I am on the computer she us under my chair sleeping. Everywhere I go she goes with me. And she is so smart.

My little girl is 2 months old now. She is growing so fast. I love watching her personality just bloom right before my eyes. And she loves to play with the other dogs no matter how big they are. She thinks she is just as big. And she is mouthy too which is really cute right now. She even talks to us to get our attention when she feels that she just has to have it. She is something else.

Shelby is a bit put out with the sleeping arrangements. Shelby has always slept with me and continues to do so but she is not understanding why this little one has to sleep with us. She is really good about it though and does really well. She has learned that throwing a fit and getting off the bed isn't going to make it any different so she comes back and cuddles up with me. Those are my two girls.

Okay so I am sitting in the dog food sack, so what! I am not doing anything wrong, I know there is food in the bowl but I would rather get in the sack and get it myself. Thanks.

Maggie has settled in very nicely. Ok so she is a holy terror. That is okay, she fits right in. She is an amazing little pup with a personality that is a lot bigger than her body. She cracks us up. She was meant to be a part of this family for sure. And her name fits for some reason. Emmy and Maggie are now best friends and inseperable.

Well here is the latest pic of Magpie. It has turned out that she is Sable Merle. She is a fat lazy little girl. She does know how to act like a tornado though. She is something else for sure. I adore her. She keeps us laughing for sure.

This is Shelby. She is a double registered (APRI & AKC) Sheltie and she is Tri Colored. She was born December 22, 2007.

I got Shelby about a week after I got Rowdy and Rusty which would have been the end of February 2008. I had seen her picture in an ad and had to have her. She was beautiful. So I took of work early one day and went and got her. What a wonderful girl she is.

April 2008
Shelby doesn't get to go with us to many places as she gets very car sick. The day I brought her home she got sick several times in the truck and was sick the rest of the evening.

Now Shelby is totally my dog. She is full of energy and there isn't a dog here that can catch her. She would be a fantastic agility dog IF she didn't get so car sick. But that is okay, I will make an agility course in our yard and we will have fun doing it at home. She is very smart and very willing to please. She is also very spoiled as she sleeps with us at night until she is ready to get off the bed and then she goes and sleeps in my closet.

This is Amy. She is an APRI registered shaded sable sheltie. Amy is about the sweetest, most quiet sheltie I have ever seen. I just got her August 2008 and she is 4 years old. She was born May 18, 2004. She is a wonderful dog, completely housebroken. She is still a bit unsure about being a family dog. I do believe she had not had a lot of attention for a long time so she is having to get use to being able to run around the house and be with us as a family member. She is a beautiful girl. She will now lay in the livingroom with us although she prefers to go to sleep in the bathroom. It was the first room that she adopted as her "safe" place. We are trying to let her know that anywhere in the house or the yard is a "safe" place for her.

UPDATE Sept 7, 2008: Amy is doing wonderfully with us. She has decided not to hide in the bathroom anymore and is now a huge part of the family.  I am guessing the treats have helped with that. She lays in the livingroom with us now and has really come around. She is still very mellow and quiet, well quiet in the house. She will now bark outside if someone drives up. She is fabulous.

UPDATE December 30, 2008:
Amy has really settled in and come out of her shell as much as I think she ever will. I do believe she was a kennel dog before a friend of mine got her and then I got her. Now she waits at the door in the evening to come in the house which is a huge stride for her. She has gotten use to being a part of the family and being able to come in the house with everyone else. She is so quiet in the house you don't even know she is in here and she has her favorite corner. She is not like a typical sheltie at all. She is way calm and quiet. Not like my others. They bounce like rubber balls. She is a wonderful dog and will give us some wonderful puppies in about a month now. Can't wait to see the little ones.

This is Amy. She is 4 years old and about the sweetest Sheltie. She is very quiet, which is not like your typical sheltie at all. She is settling in with us very nicely and getting use to her new home.

On February 8, 2009 Amy gave birth to just one puppy. He is a male, going to be sable in color, do not know yet whether he will be shaded sable or not. He was sired by Kings Rusty Fox who can be seen on my boys page. He is a fat, healthy and very well marked sheltie boy.  He will be ready to go at about 2 months old. He will be registered APRI.

Well Amy has been a part of our clan now for a few months or so. She is doing great and is spoiled just as the rest of them are. She is getting use to being a house dog and I think is taking to it really well. She is so well behaved. She has a really nice personality and an easy going temperment.

The little white dog in the middle of the picture is Emmy. Otherwise known around here as Princess Emmy. Yep she has gotten to be a real princess and shows it as often as she can. But there is a flip side to her. She is a tomboy as well. She can hang with the boys with no problem and can even whip some of them. Top dog around here? Well just maybe. She is a double dilute merle sheltie and as a result of that she is deaf. She does not breed and is our loving pet along with her brother Bear. They will stay together and just be loved by us. Emmy has become one of my husbands faithful little followers. She sleeps in bed with us next to him. See she is a princess.
