August 8, 2009 Saturday
I apologize for being so lax about posting updates and will try to do better. All of Shelby's
pups went to wonderful new homes. All were people that knew of shelties and how much energy they had and I think they all
got wonderful homes. Thank you everyone for adding one of our babies to your families. I hope you love them as much as we
love ours.
Everyone is growing so big. The pup that Amy had in Feb of 2009, we named him Max and
we kept him. He is very special to us and he has decided that my husband belongs to him.
As of last night I noticed that my Miniature pinscher is a different kind of fat. I mean
she is always fat which is why I don't notice cause she always looks like a sausage on toothpick legs. Well this is a different
fat. She is pregnant by one of the shelties. Didn't think it would happen due to the fact that, well the boys could not line
things up so I didn't worry about it, since it never happened prior to this. But I squeezed a tit and there is milk so I am
guessing that she will be having pups soon. So the new designer breed for one time only is now SHELPINS! This was a total
accident, not done on purpose and won't be happening again. I am sure they will be cute though.
Our last pup from Shelby left yesterday. It was heartbreaking BUT he went to a super home.
They adore him and possibly want another one. They only like shelties and this is their 4th one. I am telling you that this
breed is addictive totally. I love mine. And I hate to sell the pups. They are so smart. The people were so happy with the
pup and he will be spoiled ROTTEN I am sure. I am so happy for him and they are really nice and will keep me updated on him
which I greatly appreciate. He was a sweetheart and such a huge personality! Had he not sold I would not have been upset in
the least but I think he was meant for them.
Thats about it for now. Everyone is enjoying being in the house under the air conditioning.
I can't say that I blame them. Its to darn hot outside but they do have a pool of their own out there and they do use it.
Even the St. Barnard uses it which is funny cause its a small pool. LOL.
We hope for some cooler weather soon.
April 30, 2009 Thursday: Shelby had 4 beautiful puppies this afternoon. She had 3 girls and 1
boy. Pictures coming soon.
Three are sable one is black and white.
February 21, 2009:
Well as you have already surmised if you have visited lately we only had one puppy. He was the only
one she was pregnant with. That is okay, he is so fat its not funny. Gets all the milk machines to himself. Amy is such
a good mother. I am considering retiring her from motherhood though. I think she was a sort of puppy mill dog in her prior
years. She has some issues (phobias) is not aggressive but the opposite. She is very shy which is not at all like a sheltie.
She has come around a lot since I have had her. She will continue to be a part of our very large family. You just never know
she is around. She does act more like a sheltie when she is outside with the others. She is so quiet and reserved in the house.
But has gotten to like being a house dog. She comes for our attention now when she only use to hide. I cured that with yummy
tid-bits as bribery. IT WORKED!
Our newest girl is so wonderful and full of personality just as our others are. The all crack me up.
If you want an entertaining dog then a sheltie is for sure just exactly that. All of mine amaze me on a daily basis and crack
me up. Just can't get enough of them. They are wonderful family dogs. My daughter keeps trying to steal one of mine to take
home, I keep telling her NO. My new little girl stays by my side like you wouldn't believe. She even sleeps in bed with us
at night and no accidents. She is going to be a piece of cake to train. Will be glad when the weather warms up so she can
play outside with me more. The adult shelties love the cold weather. Its amazes me. Shelties are wonderful additions to a
family that has the energy to keep up with them.
Shelby, my tri color sheltie, is currently in heat. I really wasn't sure she would ever come into heat.
February 8, 2009:
PUPPIES ARE ARRIVING TODAY. So far we have one sable little boy. He is ssssoooooo adorable. Don't think mom is done
yet, we will see. Stay tuned. I will update later or tomorrow when I know she is done.
January 10, 2009:
Bear was neutered yesterday January 9, 2009. He is doing very well. He was not feeling well when he
woke up but was fine by this morning. He is acting normal.
December 30, 2008:
Well the new year is right around the corner. Its hard to believe we will be ringing in 2009. Well here
at the farm we will ring it in right here from out chairs. Spend it with the dogs and listen to all the rednecks in the area
shoot off their guns at midnight. Yah not looking forward to that. I am sure the horses and dogs won't like it either. So
I guess I will expect some barking tomorrow night. I will just bring everyone in anyway just as I do every night. Right now
we are wall to wall fur. Meaning all the dogs are in the house and all are layed out in the livingroom floor. Yep a complete
multi-colord fur rug that breathes.
Well Happy New Year from Sunrise Shelties. Be safe. Have fun.
December 24, 2008 Wednesday CHRISTMAS EVE
Well Shelby turned a year old on Dec. 22, 2008. Happy Birthday Shelby. The dogs are loving the snow.
They love to run and play in it. Silly dogs.
This will be their first Christmas with us. No I didn't put up the tree, they would have to much fun
taking it down each and every day. I let everyone stay in the house during the day since the weather is so bad.
Updated pictures are going up soon. They are so funny. What spoiled shelties they are. Amy will be having
puppies in a little over a month. Time sure is flying by. Can't believe it. She is such a good girl.
Merry Christmas everyone.
December 3, 2008 Wednesday
We will be having purebred registered sheltie puppies in about 60 days. The proud parents will be Amy
and Rowdy. So hopefully we will get a couple blue merles but no matter what we get they will be beautiful.
We are excited about our upcoming puppies. They will be raised inside.
December 1, 2008 Monday
Well I have been remis about updating my website with sheltie news.
Everyone has grown a ton since I last updated. They have all gotten to experience their
first snow. They like it. To bad I don't. I have to make sure I close the bedroom door before letting anyone in from outside
because they decide to go get in mommy's bed and well need I say more? It appears that since I have gone back to work I am
going to have to start shutting the bedroom door before I go to work daily. Bear and Emmy stay in the house when I got to
work and it appears that Bear has seperation anxiety. Oh yes, I think Emmy does too but not as bad. They drag MY clothes out
of the bedroom and into the livingroom to let me know they are not happy when I get home. It is my punishment. Emmy just gets
into things but they both do their share of tearing things up. They will get into my egg carton stash and shred them. Well
its like picking up after a few 2 year olds that have been left to play for a few minutes while you went the bathroom or something.
LOL. Kennel you say? Oh no not the Prince and the Princess.
Emmy has become daddy's girl. She passes out on the arm of his chair and sleeps on his
side of the bed at night. Bear is my dog and that is obvious. Shelby is our other Princess or so she thinks. She sleeps on
my side of the bed so we have two dogs with us in a queen size bed. The rest sleep on the floor surrounding the bed. AND I
DO MEAN SURROUNDING! Last night I let all 9 dogs in. Even the St. Bernard. Lord is he big. Have mercy. All the Shelties come
in at night anyway and if its to darn cold. Although they have dog houses but hey I think they need to be in our house. Okay
so they are a little spoiled. They have all grown into beautiful dogs now and I will update pictures soon.
Well about time to go let the crew in for the night. Hope all had a great Thanksgiving
and will have a wonderful Christmas. Just around the corner now.
Sept 7, 2008:
Well everyone is doing well despite the rain. Oh and its raining again this evening so wet dogs came
in once again. To bad I had just shampoo'd the carpet yesterday. Oh well. Can't leave the babies out in the rain.
Amy is totally part of the family now. Acts like all the others with the exception of her being a lot
more mellow and a lot quieter. She is a sweetheart.
I put new pics of Emmy and Bear up on their page. They sure have changed a lot in the three months that
I have had them. I still don't understand why no one wanted them just because they are deaf. They are just like my hearing
dogs.
September 4,2008
Well its raining again today and the shelties are like kids stuck in the house. I have finally relented
and let them out in the yard for a bit. They are so bored in the house. They love to be out playing in the yard no matter
what the weather. Might as well let them, a little water and dirt never hurt a darn thing. Besides they are driving me up
the wall being cooped up in the house.
Amy has really come around in the last three weeks that we have had her. She is amazing. Her shyness
seems to have mostly gone away. She is interacting with the family now instead of hiding. I have even seen her playing with
the others and generally having a great time. That makes me happy to see her so happy and adjusting so well.
